Federal government denies N.D.’s request for reimbursement related to DAPL protest costs

BISMARCK, N.D. – The federal government denied North Dakota’s request for reimbursement for cost associated with the Dakota Access Pipeline protests according to a spokesperson for Gov. Doug Burgum.The request was made directly to President Donald Trump from Burgum and was denied three weeks later.

In the letter sent to the president Burgum notes that the total costs for protest activity is expected to be $37 million.
